Hello, and welcome to my website-in-progress!
My name is Halley Bondy. I’m a professional freelance writer, journalist, editor, producer, and mom based in Brooklyn. You can find my articles in NBC News, Eater NY, Bustle, Oxygen, Scary Mommy, Vice, New York Daily News, MTV, and more. I have over 13 years of experience. My work has won a Shorty Award for digital content, as well as the Outstanding Playwright award in the Fringe NYC Festival. NBC gave me a “GEM” award, which stands for “Going the Extra Mile.”
I previously worked for major media brands as a senior editor, creative producer, writer, and director while maintaining an active freelance life. Feel free to request my CV! Listing everything here feels boring. I wouldn’t want you to be bored! Heavens.
I write scripts for video, podcasts, and theatre - whether it’s editorial, comedy, branded, or “brand-ish.” I write deck and marketing copy, too.
I’ve authored three non-fiction books for middle-graders and high-schoolers, and I have two more on the way (they’re good ones…man I wish I could spoil them here!)
I edit anything from articles to marketing copy, to deck copy to entire books and proposals. While I tend to work for media outlets, I take on private clients sometimes, too. Be warned, I can be harsh, but I’ll help you get your work into good shape.
I enjoy all topics from arts to tech to parenting to politics to hard news. Nothing right-wing or hate-based.
